honeymoon breakdown

March 16th, 2009

Wedding planning can a wonderful process, but it can also turn normal people into flower-crazed insomniacs.  After crossing off a thousand to-do lists, you realize that the honeymoon is there for a reason.  It doesn’t need to be anything complicated.  It doesn’t require crossing three oceans.   It just needs to be chill.

For the ultimate in chill, we love the Mayasutra Honeymoon package from Rosewood Mayakobá.   Here’s the basic deal:

Hop down to Cancún on any of the many daily, direct flights.  Settle into one of the Riviera Maya’s most enchanting and luxe resorts.  Get used to having your own plunge pool and butler.  Swim in the Caribbean Sea.  Rinse, repeat.

Then for a little oomph, take a private class in Tantric Yoga by moonlight.  Get private massage instruction followed by thirty minutes of alone time to try out the new moves.  Enjoy a massage by moonlight on your private terrace.

Once you’re ready to see the outside world, choose between a visit to the ancient Mayan ruins nearby or a snorkeling excursion.  Come back, hit the tequila library before dinner, and slip into an aromatherapy bath.

Vow to retire in Mexico.
