Just the mention of Georgia O’Keeffe conjures up images of New Mexico’s unique spirituality, sense of place, and individuality. And now, Georgia is coming to the big screen in Santa Fe, one of the country’s most culturally-rich small cities! The O’Keeffe Museum and the Lensic Performing Arts Center announce the exclusive ‘live’ red carpet premiere of “Georgia O’Keeffe,” a Lifetime Television original movie, starring Oscar winner Jeremy Irons and Oscar nominee Joan Allen.  The film explores the turbulent 20-year relationship between O’Keeffe and her photographer/husband, Alfred Stieglitz, telling the story of how this emotional struggle paved the way for O’Keeffe’s move out West and her eventual place in New Mexico’s history.

    Friday, August 28, will find both fans and stars aligned to celebrate the life and times of one of the Southwest’s most iconic figures. Ms. Allen will be the guest of honor at the film’s opening, followed by a reception and silent auction of props and memorabilia from the film, including such collectibles as realistic reproductions of Ms. O’Keeffe’s artwork, photographs from the set, and an autographed canvas-back from one of the movie set’s chairs.  The Inn on the Alameda, one of Santa Fe’s finest small hotels, has written the perfect script for attending the premiere and exploring O’Keeffe’s inspirations.
