Crillon le Brave

In the Summer we go to the beach, in the Winter we go skiing… But what do we do in the Fall and Spring? We luxuriate in the fields of Provence, mais bien sur!

Where: Nestled in the heart of Provence, atop Mont Ventoux, the refined-rustic Hotel Crillon le Brave is one of France’s most notable boutique hotels. Just 90 minutes North of Marseille, it consists of seven beautifully restored stone houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, which are linked by bridges, cobblestone walkways and hidden courtyards. The authentic Provençal accommodations include 23 rooms, seven suites and a two-bedroom house, each decorated with a mix of contemporary furnishings and shabby-chic accents.

The Deal: The divine Hotel Crillon le Brave is offering guests 50% savings on room nights in Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. When: October 17 – November 28 and March 1 – April 30. (Wednesday through Saturday nights in November and March; and seven days a week in October and April.)

What to Expect: Sweet fragrances linger in the air from the annual grape harvest in autumn, while spring is filled with the pretty blossoms of flowering almond and cherry trees. The temperature hovers around a cool 60°F during the autumn and spring months and is ideal for enjoying all of the outdoor activities the area has to offer.

What to Do: ?

  • Fuel up on fromage and baguettes at the Carpentras outdoor market (known for being one of the best weekly markets in France.)
  • Embark on a hiking or bicycling excursion with the hotel’s complimentary bikes.
  • Tour one of the many local vineyards, where Rhône wines are the specialty.
  • Visit the nearby town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Provence’s antiques capital.
  • Stay close to home and play on the hotel’s tennis or boules courts before unwinding with a spa treatment at the open-air spa.
  • Dine on flavorful cuisine such as gigot d’agneau (leg of lamb) and ragoût de gambas (shrimp stew) in the hotel’s restaurant.
  • Listen to live music and enjoy weekly wine tastings at Crillon le Brave’s new Grange Bar.
