It’s already August, and you still haven’t planned that much needed summer vacation? Over 12,000 participants from 188 groups of choreographed dancers and musicians will parade through the city streets in traditional obon dance costumes, accompanied by traditional Japanese instruments such as the shamisen lute, taiko drums, shinobue flute, and the kane bell.  For some more competitive action, attend the 2012 Grand Sumo Tournament. Happening from September 9-23, wrestlers young and old from across Japan will come to Tokyo to partake in the event. Hakkeyoi!
