Inn on the Alameda

Breathe in; breathe out.  In…out…. You may find yourself doing a lot of deep breathing in Santa Fe.  Between the high altitude, clean crisp air, the heady aroma of spicy Southwestern cuisine, and spiritual lifestyle (yoga, anyone?), visitors to the rustic Inn on the Alameda, in the oldest capital city in the United States, will discover many reasons to inhale their surroundings.

Start the day with the Breakfast of Enchantment at the Inn, where the green chile croissants make a convincing argument for staying in.  Next stop is Santa Fe town; wander through the central Plaza for some shopping and people-watching.  Pop into St. Francis Cathedral to listen to the choir or take a class at the local cooking school – cooking with green chiles is their specialty.

A stroll down Canyon Road, the main drag for art and culture in Santa Fe, leads back toward the Inn on the Alameda, one of the city’s premier small hotels and a cozy place to bunk under the desert sky.
