Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

After a renovation of over $100 million, Jalousie Plantation has relaunched as Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort. The property, sandwiched between St. Lucia’s towering Pitons, has powdery Sugar Beach and the Caribbean Sea at one end and lush rain forest engulfing the other. The three-year project saw the addition of 59 new villas and eight new Luxury Beachfront Bungalows, the revamp of 11 Luxury Sugar Mill Rooms, and the opening of the new 9,427-square-foot Rainforest Spa.

Set within more than 100 acres of lush rain forest and embraced by the island’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pitons, Sugar Beach is Caribbean paradise, with several sophisticated bars and restaurants, a Kids Club, the incredible Rainforest Spa, and activities such as SCUBA diving and snorkeling excursions.

In addition to the rooms and villas at the resort, Sugar Beach also offers residences ranging from two to five bedrooms, perfect for families or groups, each with an infinity pool and butler service. For those seeking a second (or third) home, Sugar Beach’s new Glenconner Residences offer the chance to own a home in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Glenconner Residences comprise four, four- to five-bedroom homes designed by architect Lane Pettigrew. Every Residence features a huge infinity-edged swimming pool secluded within meticulously landscaped gardens of native flowers and trees. Capturing Lord Glenconner’s way of life, owners have all the luxuries of a five-star resort provided by Sugar Beach. Additionally, each of these homes has direct access to Glenconner Beach.
