Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi

Maldives is home to 120+ luxury hotels and the new projects have not slowed down. The islands have recently welcomed properties by Kudadoo, St. Regis and Intercontinental. When the doors opened on July 1, 2019, Waldorf Astoria became the first luxury resort debut near Malé in the last decade. Location is a unique selling point because Waldorf Astoria guests do not need to rely on a seaplane transfer, which is not possible after 6 p.m., from the International Airport to their hotel. There are 121 overwater, beach and reef villas – smallest is 2,700 square feet – plus a private villa that can sleep 25 guests. A dedicated spa buggy picks up guests from their villas to enjoy a menu of 30+ treatments that are based on earth, water, fire, and metal. The 22,000 square feet spa comprises 10 treatment villas. Signature experience is a 90-minute Starlight Ocean Massage that is only available 9-10:30 p.m.
